Information About Melissa herb (Lemon Balm):
Common Uses: As a mild sedative, Melissa is used to relieve anxiety and restlessness, especially in children. It will also relieve flatulence, ease a fever and is used as an antiviral to combat herpes. Also called Lemon Balm, this herb is used in treatment of hyperthyroidism.
Suggested Uses: 50 to 80 drops in water or juice three to four times daily or as recommended by your health practitioner.
Traditional Uses: Arthritis, rheumatic pain, gout, diuretic, cystitis.
Herbal Anecdote: Meadowsweet was sacred to the Druids and the favored strewing herb of Elizabeth I.
