Information About Stone root:
Common Uses: As a mild astringent, Stone root tones the mucous membranes of the GI and respiratory tracts. Used also to treat diarrhea and hemorrhoids. It will also serve as a diuretic and urinary tract astringent and disinfectant for use in the treatment of kidney and bladder stones.
Suggested Uses: 30 to 50 drops in water or juice three to four times daily or as recommended by your health practitioner.
Traditional Uses: Traditional herbalists have used stone root for hemorrhoids, gastritis, pain in the rectum, heart tonic, rheumatic inflammation, laryngitis, pharyngitis, "clergyman's sore throat", dysentery, ulcers, inflammation of the middle ear, acute cystitis, and vaginismus.
Herbal Anecdote: It is largely used by American veterinary surgeons as a diuretic.
