Myrrh gum - Latin Name: (Commiphora molmol)

Herbal Anecdote: Myrrh has been used since antiquity to inspire prayer and meditation, and to fortify and revitalize the spirit.

Traditional Uses: Used for ages in perfumes and incense, it has also been used as holy oil by the Jews and by ancient Egyptians for embalming and fumigations. Its astringent, healing properties have been used traditionally to heal mucous membranes, mouth ulcers, spongy gums, and ulcerated throat.
